ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif confirmed death sentences to 10 terrorists on Thursday.
These terrorists were involved in offences related to terrorism including killing of innocent civilians, polio workers, police officials and army personnel. They admitted their crimes before the magistrate and the trial court.
Arms, munitions and explosives had been recovered from their possession, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
– The criminals’ details –
- Muhammad Shahid Omar, son of Zaman Khan – An active member of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in the killing of two workers of a polio vaccination team, 11 employees of an NGO, several civilians, attacking law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
- Hussain Shah, son of Fazal-i-Hadi – An active member of TTP involved in attacking the armed forces which resulted in death of Major Mustafa, Captain Waseem, several soldiers.
- Zafar Iqbal, son of Muhammad Khan – An active member of TTP involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of Subedar Awal Khan, Naik Azmat Ullah of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) and injuries to ASI of police Chanar Gul and constable Shafique of the FC.
- Anwer Zeb – An active member of TTP involved in abduction of Lieutenant Colonel (r) Khaqqan Afzal, slaughtering of Umar Ghani and killing of a civilian.
- Obaidur Rehman – An active member of TTP involved in killing of innocent civilians. He was also in possession of explosives.
- Sher Alam, son of Hanifur Rehman – An active member of TTP involved in attacking LEAs and killing of civilians. He was also in possession of fire-arms and explosives.
- Atta Ullah, son of Muhammad Sultan – An active member of TTP involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of several soldiers and injures to Captain Asif.
- Mushtaq Khan, son of Saeed Gul – An active member of TTP involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of several soldiers and injures to Captain Asif.
- Asghar Khan – TTP’s active member who attacked the LEAs that resulted in death of several soldiers and injures to Captain Asif.
- Shamsul Qamar – An active member of TTP involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of police officials and injuries to civilians.
