LAHORE – The Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) will be a two-day event at Avari Hotel, a press statement issued by the organisers said on Thursday.
According to the statement issued here on Thursday, the LLF will start on Feb 20 (Saturday) and conclude on Sunday. “We are looking at a truncated festival, but let’s make it a success. It said the updated programme of the event would be released soon,” the statement said. DCO Captain (r) Muhammad Usman Younis said that the CDGL had concerns over security requirements.
He said that the matter had been discussed with the organisers. “Once they give us the required assurance on security measures, an NOC will be issued for two days.” Asked what requirements were needed to be met for events the LLF, Younis said, “It is best not to disclose such things.
“The festival will now only be held on two days instead of three owing to security concerns, a source close to the development told.” “Originally, this year’s festival was scheduled to commence on Friday, February 19. The change has been made on the advice of the Punjab government,” it added.
