MANSEHRA – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said he is on journey for Pakistan’s progress and development and not for political campaigning.
Addressing a rally after groundbreaking of Havelian-Thakot motorway, he said the government has the agenda of country’s progress and not of sit-in protests. He made several announcements for public’s relief including decision not to increase petroleum and electricity prices. He announced to slash down electricity prices by Rs 2.5 per unit and reiterated determination to rid the country of electricity load shedding by 2018.
PM Nawaz promised a ‘changed’ fate to the people of Mansehra. Amid loud applause, he said he has rejected the summary to increase petroleum prices. “We’ll have to face a deficit of Rs 18 billion but still won’t raise prices”, he said. He announced several development projects for Mansehra and Hazara including ensuring gas supply and Rs 1 billion package for Hazara University.
He said he’s not here for political stunt but to work for country’s development. “Ours is the agenda of Pakistan’s success, progress and prosperity and not of sit-ins”, he said. “We’re determined to elevate Pakistan to the status of world’s best country”.
PM Nawaz said they don’t raise hollow slogans, adding that they won’t let anyone sabotage the agenda of Pakistan’s development. He said it is the federal government of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) that initiated major projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite the fact that the provincial government is not led by them.
